About us
YEESS is an association founded in 2021 by European startups and SMEs with the purpose of representing the emerging space sector and fostering its implication in Europe’s Space Ambition.
Yeess wants to work with and for Europe and support collectively the competitiveness of Europe in #space.

Juan Tomás Hernani is co-founder and CEO of SATLANTIS since 2014, a leading NewSpace Company for Earth and Universe Observation Technologies and End-to-End Solutions for Small Satellites. He is an Industrial Engineer (Engineering School of Bilbao), Economist (Business Administration – Universidad del País Vasco), and has a Master of Science/Advanced Manufacturing (Cranfield Institute of Technology). He has experience both in top management of private companies and in highly ranked positions in public administration. He has been President or CEO in large industrial groups, playing a leading role as entrepreneur and investor in SMEs, with high exposure to internationalization, technology and innovation. Since 2021 he is President of YEESS – Young European Enterprises Syndicate for Space.

He is an Aerospace Engineer by the universities of ISAE- Toulouse and UPC (Barcelona). He has gained expertise at Airbus (FR) and Avio (IT) into the aeronautical and space propulsion fields. He cofounded Pangea Aerospace in 2018 to disrupt the launcher segment by introducing novel technologies into the fields of reusability and propulsion. Pangea currently employs 30 people and has recently succeeded in testing a novel rocket engine, the aerospike. Such a milestone is key on Pangea’s roadmap to have a reusable launcher.

Nicolas CAPET, ANYWAVES CEO, is a French PhD engineer, expert in electromagnetism and microwaves, graduated from ENAC and Toulouse University. Former CNES antenna engineer, Nicolas has contributed to more than 65 scientific publications and 25 patents. His passion for space and his real desire to contribute to French & European new space boom drove him to launch his own company in 2017. Since then, ANYWAVES has been designing and manufacturing revolutionary antennas for the satellite constellations market.

Prior to founding Aerospacelab in 2017, Benoît Deper has worked as a Research Associate at the IMD Business School, Lead Engineer and CTO of Swiss Space Systems, Young Graduate Trainee in the Systems Engineering directorate at the European Space Agency.

Dr. Max Gulde is the CEO and co-founder of constellr, a German New Space startup with the mission to enable smart farming at scale. Max is a physicist by training, with a broad scientific background in optical systems, image processing, space flight dynamics, and software development. He has been published in journals including Nano Letters, Science and Nature. Prior to founding constellr, Max was the lead mission scientist for Fraunhofer Space Program‘s first satellite, ERNST. The patents he developed here now form the basis of constellr’s agricultural product portfolio.

Dr. Olga Stelmakh Drescher is a prominent leader in space policy and industry affairs. She serves as a Member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Space. She also represents her company on the NewSpace Advisory Board, advising the Director General of the European Space Agency (ESA), while fulfilling her role as Chief Policy, Legal, and Government Relations Officer at Exolaunch.

Jean-Luc Maria, cofounder of Exotrail and former CTO, becomes Chairman and CEO of Exotrail in October 2021. Jean-Luc leads Exotrail’s vision and global execution to position the company as a leader of in-space logistics. Jean-Luc is an aerospace engineer and before to found Exotrail worked as a system engineer and space payload project manager for 16 years at CNRS (French National Research Centre) first on solar system exploration missions (Venus Express, ExoMars, BepiColombo …) and then moved as manager of an AIT (Assembly, Integration & Tests) platform for space hardware integration and qualification. He has a wide and comprehensive knowledge of the space development cycle, together with an extensive network in the space industry worldwide.
